October brought lots of fun for the Zavodny's. First, we got to do something on Halloween other than buy a bunch of candy, wait around for ALL FOUR kids who came by, and then either force ourselves to ration it (and not eat it all in one day) or to give it to co-workers (like everyone else). Well, while we didn't exactly go door-to-door we did enjoy proudly walking the streets with other young parents. We were even told - "COW COSTUMES! You really should go up the street to meet the Zavodny's - they own the Chick-fil-A you know!"... Guess we do need to get-out in 'the hood' a little bit more... And, no, the kids costumes didn't say anything about "Eat Mor Chikin" but we are thinking about repeating every year with a headline saying something like "Eat Chikin or we don't eat - thanx!"
October was also a lot of fun because we celebrated "Mother's Day" via a certificate D had given Jules for a free weekend in Fredericksburg, TX. Thanks to Granny and PaPaw we got away sans kids to a cute B&B, enjoyed "crazy Nikki's" horse-drawn carriage tour, ventured out to the Texas wine country (yes, there IS a Texas wine country), shopped, and just relaxed all-around. More funny stories than we can recall...
Oh, milestones - DUH! Well the biggest thing is that Ms. Lucy STARTED CRAWLING this month. After SEVERAL weeks of propping-up on all-fours and rocking she boldly went where she'd never gone before - forward. She simply LOVES spotting something and making a B-line - mostly towards Samson (who's freakin' out by the way!). Coop, incidentally, is disinterested at this point (except inasmuch as Lucy now crawls to him, takes his toys, and rides off toward the sunset). Coop is sitting-up WONDERFULLY now and has cut 3 teeth (none so far for Ms. Lucy - maybe she's just too busy crawling to bother with teething!). All-in-all it continues to amaze us how much we can love these little guys!
More to come during the holidays! Stay tuned - thanks for the comments all...
