Grandma & Grandpa Z - welcome back to Texas!

The Great State of Texas (and the state's unofficial welcoming committee of Cooper, Lucy, Samson & Chloe) were thrilled to welcome Grandma & Grandpa Z back for yet another visit in October!!! The visit began, of course, with a visit to Rudy's Barbeque - yes, I dared to take my father back to "A GAS STATION" for a meal... again. (By, the way should you choose to visit a Rudy's location in Austin, TX, be sure to ask for "cutter's choice"... It's a simply delicious cut of brisket (long story but funny)). Anyhow, mom & dad got to meet Karen (our wonderful blessing of a nanny) & visit with her over brisket & Cokes - of course...

After 24 hours of diving-in with the kid-duty (feedings, diaper-changings, play-time, etc.) we took mom & dad out for some Texas (and, UNITED STATES) history. Karen assisted with the kids while we drove to Georgetown for a lovely dinner on the square at Romeo's followed by a showing of "You Can't Do That Dan Moody"! What a fun time! Little Georgetown Texas was host to the first EVER successful conviction of a KKK member in the US and it happened in the VERY courtroom where the play took place... The prosecutor was a young DA named - Dan Moody. We think mom & dad started-off a little skeptical but ended-up having a wonderful time learning how... the United States, and perhaps the entire world, indeed, revolves around Texas.

The rest of the weekend was filled with good food and good times... It was topped-off with a fun walk in Lakeway City Park (which began by us carrying Coop & Lulu in their twin stroller over rocky terrain like they were Pharoahs). We finally visited Austin's unique Hula Hut restaurant on Lake Austin (where we ate outside & had fun watching Cooper try to charm the waitress). What a grand time!!! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!!!
